July 2017 | My First Job In Film

Training and inspiring the next generation of British Filmmakers

Open to young people from anywhere in the UK, and from any background, the BFI Film Academy offers a real chance for talented young people aged 16 -19 to be part of our future film industry.

This unique programme runs between September 2017 and February half-term 2018 and takes place outside of school times, mainly on evenings and weekends.

Each course takes a hands-on approach to filmmaking and training through a combination of workshops and practical skills development using industry standard equipment. Participants will enjoy masterclasses by key industry figures, receive bespoke careers advice and will be guided through the production of a film as part of a crew.

Arts Award or Preparing to Work in the Film Industry accreditation is part of every course.

Film Academies are run at 50 locations across the UK, so take a look for your nearest course.
