My name is Marina Ohana. I recently moved to London from Dublin to do a part-time course in Post-production at Met Film School. I hope to eventually have a career as a film editor, and am excited about all the opportunities available to me here in London. I've always been interested in a career in film but it took a while for me to nail down which direction I wanted to go. I'm very interested in the storytelling element of film, and all the different aspects that can make or break a story. I realised I might want to be an editor when I learned the story of how the first Star Wars film was saved in the edit by Marcia Lucas and Paul Hirsch. I liked that editing was this relatively unnoticeable thing to most people, and yet it could have such a powerful effect on a film. The more I looked into it, the more I found that a lot of my favourite films were edited by women, and it started to really crystallise as an achievable career path for me. Apart from film, my greatest passions are travelling and karaoke, two things I do as often as possible, and yet not nearly often enough.
