Hello there! I’m Nassandi, a 24 year old student from Porto Alegre, Brasil. Back in 2014 I decided to move from Brazil to Portugal, seeking new challenges and new opportunities in a Portuguese university. After a short period exploring some other fields I decided to change my studies to sociology, believing that this way I could expand the possibilities for my future and maintain critical thinking present in everything I would do in my career. So, after a while I’ve started getting more interested in the sociology of art, which was natural taking into consideration that I’ve always liked photography and painting. Since then I’ve got involved in projects, art collectives and internships in the audiovisual field apart from taking a Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication with an emphasis in Photography and Documentary Filmmaking.

This Is Not My Home (2021)João was born in the city of Porto, more specifically at Rua de Aníbal Cunha. 60 years later João spends his days on the same street where he grew up, now on the sidewalk in front of his old building. Between the struggle for survival and the attachment to the place he knows as home, João keeps his routine watching the small world that unfolds in downtown Porto.
