The Met Film School's Six Month Practical Filmmaking course has been designed for students looking for an intensive and practical alternative to traditional academic routes into filmmaking.
The course covers the creative and technical aspects of key screen disciplines, from screenwriting to editing and it's suitable for beginners - no previous experience is required.
You will be equipped with technical, creative and business skills in disciplines such as screenwriting, directing, camera operating, cinematography, producing and postproduction.
You will also get to write and direct your first industry-standard short film and experience work as part of a creative crew in a variety of different roles, including Director, Screenwriter, Camera Operator, Cinematographer and Editor.
Make a short documentary within a small team outside of school premises and work with professional actors and receive guidance from working industry tutors. You will build your own connections and collaborate with the creative student community.
To get the most out of the course, you should be able to both speak and write in English to a reasonable standard.
Intro to Filmmaking is the perfect course for anyone wanting to get a first taste of filmmaking. Combining workshop and group instruction, this course has been designed to provide a fun, hands-on introduction to the basics of directing, sound and editing.
