Are you interested in developing your art department skills and connections through volunteering on student film projects? Then we could be perfect for you!
We are looking for volunteer art department assistants for our graduation animation film, ‘Other Half’.
The story follows Ren, a 19 year old being living in a world where once you find your soulmate, the two of you merge to become one. Lonely, and desperate to find his other half, he sets off on a Greek myth-inspired adventure to find wholeness at last.
‘Other Half’ (WT) is a multiplane animation that combines various techniques and styles in both the sets and the character animation. 3D set pieces, forced perspective, and the use of various materials including wax, plasticine and expanding foam will all be used to create a unique, otherworldly environment that sets the scene for our unlikely hero to embark upon his quest.
Dates: Until 11th Dec with the opportunity to continue in January part-time.
We have a fixed budget for travel and food expenses, otherwise the experience is voluntary.
This will all be done within a safe work environment that will be adhering to the government’s current guidelines. Copies of the school’s current covid-19 action plan are available upon request, and formal training on the school’s protocol will occur upon starting at the school.
Revered for its animation films, the NFTS has been named one of the top 5 animation schools in the world.
Productions frequently get accepted into film festivals across the world, and have previously accepted numerous Oscars nominations, Student Academy Awards and BAFTA top prizes to name but a few. Fun fact: did you know Wallace and Gromit was conceived at the NFTS? ‘A Grand Day Out’ was initially designed, built and animated on site!
